This past Thursday, I went to Matthew and Cynthia’s for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was great and we all shared a few laughs. Friday I traveled to Toronto to have an “American Thanksgiving in Canada.” The wonderful night was hosted by Lesley’s parents, Mike and Luci. The day marked one year (well one year and a day) since I first traveled to Canada to see Lesley. One year ago that Saturday I met Luci for the first time at the studio where she works on her sculptures.
This weekend we attempted to knock some items off the “need” list. First we went to William Ashley on Bloor St. W. We exchanged a few items from our registry and got a really nice decanter and glass set (something about me starting to drink bourbon now) and a nice vase and matching candy dish. Next we went to Canadian Tire (my very first time at Canada’s Wal-Mart!) and bought a Tassimo coffee system. My dad has one and it works great! We also got a chocolate fountain for New Years Eve. Next we went to Bay Bloor Radio to look at TVs and stereo systems. We found what we liked, but decided to think it over. When we dropped off our bags, we took a walk to Best Buy on Dundas. The stereo system we really liked was $400CAN less so we got it. The TVs will wait for Boxing week. Lesley thought it was funny that I was thinking of carrying the stereo system home. I didn’t realize just how heavy it was. Thankfully, Luci was downtown and picked us up in front of the store.
I should be receiving the FBI Certificate this week and, when I do, Lesley and I will finally be able to submit the immigration paperwork. I can’t wait!!!
